Stringy BM / Parasites in Bowel Movement

Stringy feces will often be very long and have the appearance of a length of string. They are also extremely soft.

What Causes Stringy BM / Parasites in Bowel Movement?

Stringy stools can be down to stress or anxiety – this causes muscle tension - your colon is simply adapting to having only a small hole to fit through. Diet and illness could also be the reason for softer stools.

If you have the presence of a white, stringy substance within your stools then this could be the sign of a parasitic infection; or worms.

How to Cure Stringy BM / Parasites in Bowel Movement

Simply reducing stress and muscle tension and altering your diet should resolve the problem. Making time in your day for a decent bowel movement, rather than rushing, will also aid the matter.

However if you have white, stringy stool then parasites are much more likely. Consult your physician – and get your family to do so also. It is very curable but highly contagious. Reduce the risks by ensuring all members of the family wash their hands after a bowel movement (especially small children), and if you discover that you have suffered from parasites be sure to clean the bed sheets as they can hang out there.
