What is a Hot / Spicy Bowel Movement?

Exactly what it sounds like – a hot stool. When leaving the body, the feeling of passing a hot or spicy bowel movement can range from a mild ache to a highly burning pain.

What Causes Hot / Spicy Bowel Movement?

If you eat a lot of hot and spicy foods then this could be the very reason – hot curries, potent chili peppers, spicy pizza toppings - these could all be the culprits for your discomfort. The curry might have been a good idea at the time but the results in the morning will probably make you think twice.

Less commonly, this ‘hot’ bowel movement could indicate colon or large intestinal damage.

Cure for Hot / Spicy Bowel Movement

If you can attribute last night’s supper to the state of your current bowel movement then given a little time the problem will pass and perhaps you will think twice before eating second helpings of the Vindaloo. There are creams available but they usually have little impact so it is normally easier just to ride it out.

If no dietary reason can explain the issue and it does not pass within a day or two then it is advised that you consult your doctor.
