Abnormal Bowel Movement Color

Unusual colors can include: White, Dark or Black, Yellow, Green, Orange or Red/Bloody. Always remember to check the lighting before worrying that you have abnormal colored stool.

How to Return Healthy Bowel Movement Color

A various number of factors can attribute to abnormal bowel movement color; many of which can simply be rectified with a healthy diet, high water intake, as well as a healthy body which should result in normal colored feces. Reducing stress and eliminating any infections such as colds or viruses will also contribute. Remember it may be something as simple as the food you have eaten – some contain dyes that will alter your stool color. These include carrots, beets and green vegetables. Although these foods are good for you, too many will have an adverse effect on your feces.

However some colorings could signify a more serious health issue; such as cancer. If your symptoms persist, are accompanied with other symptoms (i.e. abdominal pain, sickness etc) or do not alter with a healthy diet, then consult your doctor for further advice.
